Evening Games [ 7 PM - 11 PM ]
Game/Period: Rule Set: Game Master: Player Limits:
ACW - The Tulahoma Campaign, June 1863 Modified Napoleon's Battles II Dick Flicks 6
Game Description: Next stop on the 1863 Union advance from Nashville to Chattanooga is the railroad junction at Tulahoma, TN. Previous attempt was stalled by extremely rainy weather (deep mud) and Nathan Bedford Forrest's aggressive Confederate "assault" cavalry (special rules for Forrest's cav). With better summer weather, it's time to try again. Union General Rosecran's 64,000-man Army of the Tennessee (the river) is opposed by Confederate General Bragg's 46,000-man Army of Tennessee (the state). Both sides have about 12,000 cavalry each (Confederate note: remember that this is 1863 and the Union cavalry is WESTERN cav - be careful, those guys have breechloaders and repeaters). The Union Army of the Tennessee has an 18,000-man infantry numeric advantage, but is advancing in separate concentric columns to pose multiple threats. The Confederate Army of Tennessee is outnumbered, but has the advantage of entrenched positions and heavy artillery at Tulahoma, interior operational lines, and the availability of rail movement (new "home" rule) along the local rail lines. Reinforcements (additional commands) MIGHT be available to both sides depending on the number of players to ensure everyone has sufficient troops to command. Critical points to ponder: the Confederate Army of Tennessee is NOT the Army of Northern Virginia and Bragg is no Lee (Bragg is hated by everyone in his army - even as far back as the Mexican-American War, someone rolled a lit cannon shell into his tent); more importantly, the Union Army of the Tennessee is NOT the Army of the Potomac and Rosecrans is NOT McClellan, Pope, Burnside, Hooker, etc. (he's not great, but not bad, either) Additionally, this Union army includes Gen George Thomas as one of the corps commanders, arguably one of the top three corps commanders in the ENTIRE Union Army (Hancock and Sherman being the others). In the next eighteen months, Thomas will become known as the "Rock of Chickamauga", storm Missionary Ridge at Chattanooga, and destroy the entire Army of Tennessee at the Battle of Nashville.

Operation Torch: Oran / Alternate History-Pulp WWII Gear Krieg by Dream Pod 9 Paul Womble 6
Game Description: 8 November 1942 (an alternate timeline), off the coast of Algeria North West Africa: Lefty Kowalski climbed down the cargo net to the waiting LCM carrying his combat walker. The 15-inch guns of the British Battleship HMS Reknown roared in the background. Obviously, the Allied negotiations with the Vichy Government of Algiers had broken down. Kowalski could see the flash of the Vichy Tesla cannon in the distance. American Rangers and Combat Engineers had disembarked during the night in their assault boats to clear the beach of obstacles in the event a landing was necessary. Lefty settled into the hatch of his combat walker as the LCM pulled away from the transport ship and headed for the coast. He hoped the Engineers were right in their calculations that the beaches would support the weight of the combat walkers as well as the tanks. Lefty smiled as he recalled the "Tread Head" tankers trying to keep up with the Longstreets and the Earlys during the Louisiana wargames. He shook himself out of his daydream: The Allied amphibious assault of Oran had begun.
